meet the panel.
Join Neostella CEO Matt Lautz, Litigation Technology Manager of Central States Funds Crystal Hamilton, and Groth Law Firm Owner and Attorney Jon Groth as they unpack what data ownership really means, why vendor lock-in is becoming a growing business risk, and the questions every firm should ask before signing, or renewing, a software contract.

Matt Lautz
CEO & Founder
Neostella
Matt Lautz is one of the few technology leaders who came to legal tech from the outside—and that’s exactly what makes his perspective different. After 20+ years founding enterprise software companies across telecom, mortgage, and CRM, including ventures acquired by a Fortune 1000 company and Shoretel/Mitel, Matt brought that operator’s instinct into legal tech. He has spent years embedded inside hundreds of mid-market and enterprise law firms, learning firsthand where workflows break down and where technology keeps overpromising and underdelivering. That experience is what drives his mission with Neostella.

Crystal Hamilton
Litigation Technology Manager
Central States Funds
Crystal Hamilton is the Litigation Technology Manager for the Central States Southeast and Southwest Areas Pension Fund and Health & Welfare Fund, providing strategic leadership at the intersection of law, technology, and legal operations.
With extensive experience in litigation technology and legal operations, Crystal oversees the department’s litigation technology, eDiscovery, case management systems, and technology-enabled workflows. She works closely with attorneys, executive leadership, technology professionals, and outside partners to modernize legal operations, strengthen security and information governance, and improve the delivery of legal services.

Jon Groth
Owner & Attorney
Groth Law Firm
Jon graduated from Marquette Law School in 2000 and has worked in Wisconsin litigation and personal injury law exclusively since that time.
Jon and his firm have handled every kind of injury case you can imagine: auto and motorcycle collisions, product liability, civil litigation, nursing home neglect, bicycle and pedestrian accidents, and animal attacks.
Jon grew up in the City of Milwaukee. His father was a Milwaukee Firefighter and his mother worked for various nursing homes.
