reimagining case management at neosummit

At Neostella’s annual user conference NeoSummit 2026, we introduced our product vision, giving a live demonstration to show how our product simplifies case management and strengthens teamwork.

Throughout the keynote, CEO Matt Lautz, VP of Partner Apps Samm Karshenas, and VP of Product Brian Mayer walked through today’s reality in legal tech, challenges legal teams face, and how a new approach to case management can shape the future of law.

the problem in law isn’t the people, it’s the tools.

Most tools used in firms today do not fit the way legal work actually happens.

Systems rely on rigid structures, disconnected workflows, and limited visibility. This makes it harder for teams to stay in control and operate with confidence. At its core, this is not a small issue. The tools the industry depends on were not built for how legal work actually happens.

Neostella introduced a new approach to case management built around how legal teams actually work. This means moving toward a connected platform that brings together data, workflows, and integrations into one system.

The focus is simple. Build a system that adapts to the way teams work, not the other way around.

one platform. one source of truth. case management built for the way you work.

Neostella’s platform hosts multiple tools, and these capabilities work together as part of one connected platform.

Migration: Migration today is often slow, complex, and difficult to manage. Neostella approaches it differently by making it iterative. Teams can start with their own data, refine over time, and expand gradually. Migration becomes a starting point, not a one-time event.

Views: Different roles need different ways of working. With Views, each user sees the platform based on their role and responsibilities. Attorneys, assistants, and paralegals all interact with the same system, but in a way that fits what they need to do.

Workflows: Instead of relying on static automations, workflows guide tasks, decisions, and next steps in real time. They bring structure to processes while still allowing flexibility, so teams can move work forward with clarity and consistency. Everything in the platform supports this, making workflows not just a feature, but the foundation of how cases move forward.

Permissions: Permissions offer a high level of control. While object-level permissions like view, edit, create, and delete are available, Neostella also provides more granular controls, including tag-based access and custom rules to secure information case by case.

Marketplace and Partner Apps: Neostella creates an open ecosystem where firms can connect and use the tools that fit their needs. Partner apps integrate directly into the platform, allowing teams to bring in external data, automate actions, and expand capabilities without disrupting their workflows, while everything stays connected.

neostella’s future

We are not going to lock you in. Firms choose the AI tools that work for them and connect them to Neostella.

To do this, Neostella is rolling out support for Model Context Protocol (MCP), which allows your AI tools like CoPilot, Claude or ChatGPT to directly interact with your case data in Neostella, and we expect it to be available for Early Access in the coming weeks.

With our updated features, Neostella users will be able to ask AI tools questions about cases using data pulled directly from Neostella’s platform. The AI tool will never store credentials or hold data, and will be able to work with other AI tools your team already uses. The beta version of this feature will be available in the summer, and general usage available in the fall.

Other announcements included app migration using a user-friendly mapping tool, data sharing across multiple projects, automation that can be run within workflows, controlled access to individual documents and contacts, and the ability to manage and install apps within the platform.

All of these announcements were made with one goal: to deliver case management built for the way you work. Neostella offers everything you need to take a case from intake to demand. Our platform is truly built around your firm’s reality, and is designed to support how legal teams will work moving forward.
